This launcher needs .NET 5 Desktop Runtime (x64) to work. It usually is not installed by default on most Windows computers
The launcher is open source on github.
This launcher enables you to easily switch between several sets of mods without having to move the mods yourself. It can also be used to move all your mods outside of your game directory automatically.
In order for the launcher to work properly, all vanilla files have to be genuine. GTA V can be modded without replacing any core file, which is, in my opinion, the best practice. Since the launcher works by moving files, it obviously won't work if core files have been modified.
For example, if you want to modify vanilla .rpf files, you must keep the original file as it is, and use OpenIV.asi for the game to load the modified version in the "mods" folder.
How to use the launcher ?
Simply create a new profile (with the + button), make it active (with a right click on its name) and put mods in your game's folder normally (while being sure not to replace any base game file).
When first starting the launcher, if your game is already modded, a new profile called "Modded Profile" will automatically be created with the current mods.
How does it work ?
The launcher searches for modded files using a provided manifest of all vanilla files. When you switch profiles, it moves the mods in the GTA V directory to an external folder, then moves the mods of the other profile to the game. Using this launcher, you don't need several "Grand Theft Auto V" folders anymore !

@deleternal Hi! The modded folders are merely moved to your modded profile's external directory. You can move them back by switching to the modded profile - that's the whole point of the launcher :)
Nothing is deleted without a warning
@Pursuit When I switch profiles from the modded folder to vanilla and back, the mods and scripts folders were gone..
@Pursuit Never mind sorry it only deletes the folders when they are empty with nothing in them.
Honestly crashes constantly and goes infinite loading every time I use it and causes me to close it through task manager all the time and have barely had any somewhat good experiences with this launcher.
@deleternal Hi! I'm sorry to hear you've had a bad experience with the launcher. If it crashes, can you please send me your logs so I can look into it (via pastebin.com)? Thanks!
still says i need .net after i installed it, plus im pretty sure i had it installed before i even found this
The launcher does not move the files from the modded profile into the GTA V directory when i change to my modded profile from vanilla. After I manually moved all the folders and files from the modded profiles directory, the game will not load and crashes immediately after kaunching. Never downloading again.
@spdracr Hi! Yeah there's a lot of different versions of .NET out there... You need .NET 5 Desktop Runtime (x86) for it to work; https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/dotnet/thank-you/runtime-desktop-5.0.8-windows-x86-installer
@s13 Interesting... Did you replace any files from the base game when you modded it?
@Pursuit still doesnt work, i used the one you linked and it said repair or uninstall, i repaired just in case mine wasnt working but it still says i need .net
@spdracr Hm weird... I must've changed the compilation options at some point. Does the x64 version work?
https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/thank-you/runtime-desktop-5.0.17-windows-x64-installer
@Pursuit no it doesn't work, all my mods are gone so thanks for that
@BeanoGrigio Hi! Sorry to hear you're having troubles with the launcher. Please note the launcher doesn't delete any files without explicitely asking you. If your mods are not in your game's directory, they are likely in your profile's external folder which is located in the "Profiles" directory, right next to the launcher's executable
If you have time, make a module manager that switches script-based modules individually, instead of transferring all modules of your software. Just like https://www.gta5-mods.com/tools/gtav-mod-manager, this module can also be used normally now. One aspect it does well is that it can read the ini of each module. information file, and if you change the ini file in the module manager, the ini file in the game directory will be synchronized. But there are two major shortcomings that made me give up using it. 1. Every time I switch modules, I have to start the game, and the software will automatically close. 2. It will delete all files in your game directory that do not exist in the mod manager. I have been fooled by this software once. It deleted all files in my mods folder and I had to reinstall all mods. There are even some mods that I can’t find. The software you have now is pretty good, but it can only transfer all modules at the same time, which I think is really not very useful.
Is it normal it takes too much time to move the files? GTAVModdingLauncher.exe was barely moving above 20 MB/s in Task Manager.
@Van981 Hi! First, I recommend you put the launcher in the same drive as GTA V if it's not already. If the launcher and GTA V are on separate drives, the files aren't moved as efficiently (they're basically copied to the other drive and deleted on the original drive, which is considerably slower).
If the launcher and GTA V are on the same drive, moving a file is almost instantaneous. No data has to be transferred, only the file path has to be modified. In this situation, the time it takes to move the files does not depend on the total size of the data but only on the amount of files that have to be moved. So, unless you have thousands of files to move or have a particularly slow drive, it should take at most a few seconds.
To answer your original question: Since you're talking about a data transfer of 20 MB/s, I assume your launcher & GTA V are not on the same drive. 20 MB/s seems pretty slow even for cross drive data transfer, but since the launcher spends most of its time waiting for the drive to work I can only think of two reasons that could explain this underwhelming speed:
- Your drive simply cannot write data faster
- You're moving a lot of small files, which means the drive is spending a lot more time creating new files instead of copying data - in that case, upgrading your drive probably wouldn't change much
But regardless of the root cause, making sure the launcher is on the same drive as GTA V should drastically improve your wait time.
Hope that helps!

@Pursuit For an odd reason, whenever I try to go onto my modded profile none of my mods actually load.
This is an amazing mod thank you so much!
cool
@Pursuit Just so you know I had to download the x64 version for the launcher to work
@Thorrmak Hi! Thanks for the info, I must've changed my compilation options at some point.
I updated the description to refer to the x64 version instead. I'm also now using an aka.ms link to always refer to the latest version of .NET 5 released by Microsoft
